Have you ever found yourself alone on a dive?

Wanted to enjoy a dive without a buddy getting in the way?

The SDI Solo Diver course is the only course of its type in the world which when successfully completed allows you to dive solo. (Local regulations permitting)

One of SDI's most popular courses, the solo diver program teaches experienced recreational divers how to safely dive independently of a buddy or strengthen buddy team skills. The course stresses the importance of proper dive planning, personal limitations, accident prevention as well as the benefits, hazards and proper procedures for diving solo. You will also learn what additional equipment is required for solo diving.

This course is perfect for underwater photographers, instructors, divemasters, divers without friends as well those diving with children or with buddies that may not be very experienced.

The course takes just one day, the morning is taken up with theory, including points such as why we should solo dive, who should solo dive, solo diving mentality, when not to solo dive, equipment, planning, navigation and lastly management of solo diving emergencies.

For the rest of the day we go diving, during these dives we cover gas management, redundant air source use, buoyancy and trim, smb deployment and navigation.

Equipment, entrance to Wraysbury Dive Centre and certification fee are included in the course price.(Does not include manual)

Pre-Requisites

Minimum age: 21 years.
Minimum certification of Advanced Diver or equivalent.
Minimum of 100 logged dives.
Review and complete Medical History form and Liability Release form.
Review and complete Solo Diver Release form.
